Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: Three supplications are answered, there being no doubt about them; that of a father, that of a traveller and that of one who has been wronged.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
1536. English Commentary: These three types of individuals are generally such that they possess great sincerity, truthfulness, tenderness of heart, and humility. And in their supplications, both aspects—good and evil—are possible. Therefore, a son should remain respectful, helpful, and obedient to his father, and strive to be among those who benefit from his prayers. The matter of treating a traveler with kindness is also clear, as his supplication against someone can prove extremely harmful. For this reason, one should never commit injustice against anyone. And it is also appropriate for these individuals to remain seekers of Allah’s mercy, and to bear difficulties with patience and seek reward from Allah.

Benefits and Issues:

When the oppressed, out of distress, supplicates against the oppressor, that supplication is certainly accepted.
Therefore, one should always avoid oppressing any human or animal.

Sometimes, due to a certain wisdom, the acceptance of the supplication of the oppressed may be delayed.
In such a situation, one should be patient; patience elevates one's ranks.
Moreover, by being patient during calamity and hardship, one attains the companionship of Allah (bi-la kayf).

The supplications of both the father and the mother are accepted.
Therefore, one should strive to keep them pleased.
No opportunity to serve them should be wasted.
Mistreating them, speaking harshly to them, failing to serve them when they are in need, neglecting their necessities—all these cause them distress.
As a result, a supplication against oneself may come from their lips, which is certainly accepted.
