Hadith 1494

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الرَّقِّيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، قَالَ فِيهِ : " لَقَدْ سَأَلْتَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِاسْمِهِ الْأَعْظَمِ " .
The aforesaid tradition has been transmitted through a different chain of narrators by Malik bin Mighwal. This verso adds: "He has asked Allah using His Greatest Name. "

1494. Commentary: It is understood from this that among the Most Beautiful Names (Asma’ al-Husna) there is also the Greatest Name (Ism al-A’zam), and that it is found in Surah al-Ikhlas.
