Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
1354. English Commentary: Benefits and Issues:
➊ Using the miswak upon waking up in the morning is a Sunnah and a recommended act.
➋ Among the important litanies (awrad) for waking up at night is the recitation of the last verses of Surah Al-Imran.
➌ It is also permissible to divide the Tahajjud prayer into different portions and perform it in parts.
➍ The Sunnah supplication for going to the Fajr prayer is [اللهم اجعل في قلبي نورا..... الخ]. Its meaning is either a supplication for obtaining apparent and real light, by which the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) himself and his followers will attain illumination in the darkness of the Day of Resurrection, or it refers to the granting of knowledge, guidance, and steadfastness in acts of obedience, or both meanings are intended.
➎ The eagerness of Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) to study the biography (sirah) is remarkable and is also evidence of his lofty rank.
