Hadith Takhrij« تفرد بہ أبو داود، (تحفة الأشراف: 10138)، وقد أخرجہ: مسند احمد (1/124) (ضعیف) » (ابو اسحاق مدلس ہیں، اور روایت عنعنہ سے ہے)
Brief Explanation
1؎: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not perform any prayer in the mosque after Fajr and Asr for the purpose of closing the door (i.e., to prevent others from thinking it is permissible), however, he did make up the Sunnah prayer after Dhuhr at home, as has been mentioned in the previous hadith. It is established from Ali (radi Allahu anhu) that he performed two rak‘ahs after Asr. In the hadith, it is stated that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade prayer after Asr, except if the sun is high (i.e., it has not turned yellow).

1275. Commentary: This hadith is weak. It is established from authentic ahadith that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to perform two rak‘ahs after ‘Asr, the reason for which has been mentioned previously (in Sunan Abi Dawud hadith 1273).
