Narrated Abdullah ibn Busr: Yazid ibn Khumayr ar-Rahbi said: Abdullah ibn Busr, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out along with the people on the day of the breaking of the fast or on the day of sacrifice (to offer the prayer). He disliked the delay of the imam, and said: We would finish (our Eid prayer) at this moment, that is, at the time of forenoon.

On the Imam Delaying (the Prayer) on the Day of Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha
It is narrated from Yazid bin Khumair al-Rahbi (Tabi‘i) rahimahullah that Abdullah bin Busr radi Allahu anhu went (towards the Eid ground) on the day of Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, and he disliked the Imam delaying (the prayer). [سنن ابي داود: 1135، سنن ابن ماجه: 1317 وسنده صحيح وصححه الحاكم على شرط البخاري1/ 295ووافقه الذهبي]
It is narrated from Safwan bin Amr al-Saksaki rahimahullah that Umar bin Abd al-Aziz rahimahullah would hasten to go (to the Eid ground) for the sermon and the prayer (of Eid). [احكام العيدين للفريابي ص 109 ح 37 وسنده صحيح]
Imam Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri rahimahullah said: On the day of Eid, people would go from their homes to the Eid ground saying the takbir, and when the Imam arrived, they would become silent. When the Imam said the takbir (for the prayer), they would also say the takbir. [مصنف ابن ابي شيبه2/ 164 ح 1135، احكام العيدين للفريابي ص 117 ح 59 وسنده صحيح]
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar radi Allahu anhuma would go from the mosque to the Eid ground saying the takbir, and would continue saying the takbir until the Imam arrived. [سنن الدارقطني2/ 43 ح 1696، وسنده حسن، محمد بن عجلان صرح بالسماع عند البيهقي فى السنن الكبريٰ3/ 279 و صححه الالباني فى ارواء الغليل3/ 122]
