Hadith 1125

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْجُمُعَةِ بِ سَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى و هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ " .
Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the Friday prayer: "Glorify the name of your most high Lord" (Surah 87) and Has the story of the overwhelming event reached you? (Surah 88).

1125. Commentary:
If one recites from anywhere in the Noble Qur’an during the prayer, then without doubt the prayer is valid and correct. However, making it a habit to recite in the manner chosen by the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is a sign of love for him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and for his Sunnah, and is a cause for additional reward with Allah, the Exalted. The pleasure and honor found in this is the special fortune of the people of hadith. «كثر الله سوادهم»
