Jabir and Abu Salih reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah: Sulaik al-Ghatafani came (to the mosque) while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was giving the (Friday) sermon. He asked him: Did you pray something ? He said: No. He said: Offer two rak'ahs and make them short.

Benefit:
The aforementioned narration has been declared weak in its chain by our esteemed researcher, whereas this narration—without the words (qabla an taji’a)—is also narrated in Sahih Muslim and Abu Dawud. The researcher has mentioned this in the footnote below. And in Sunan Abu Dawud (Hadith: 1116), it has been declared authentic. Therefore, this narration, without the words (qabla an taji’a), is authentic.
