Narrated Abdullah ibn Zayd: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came upon us. We brought water for him in a brass vessel and he performed ablution.

Benefits and Issues:
Since brass and bronze vessels have a color similar to that of gold, the Imam rahimahullah has presented these narrations to remove this doubt. However, it is not permissible to use vessels made of pure gold, silver, or those plated with them. It is only permissible to the extent of soldering (joining with a small amount for repair).

From this it is understood that making vessels of brass and using them for eating and drinking is permissible.

One should avoid wearing a brass ring or any other ornament, because the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said to the one who wore a brass ring:
“What is the reason that I smell the odor of idols from you?”
